Hagen lives in Greenville, SC and is an avid golfer. In fact, he is named after golf pro Walter Hagen. Hagen has successfully executed over 100 client assignments in sell-side, buy-side M&A, public and private capital financings, valuations, expert witness testimony, fairness opinions & financial consulting services. Hagen completed his undergraduate work at Southern Methodist University and received a MBA from the Owen Graduate School at Vanderbilt University.

Prior to directing Watermark, Hagen served investment banking clients as Vice President and Senior Associate at Wachovia Securities. He began his career with NationsBank in corporate banking and also spent a summer as an intern with Chase Securities in investment banking. Hagen is a member of the Southern Capital Forum; Financial Executives Network Group; Vistage’s speaking circuit, where he speaks nationally on investment banking topics; and has provided expert witness testimony regarding investment banking issues. Hagen also serves the Greenville area as a member of the Haywood Road Steering Committee. Outside of work endeavors, Hagen is a Sunday school teacher to middle and high school students at Downtown Presbyterian Church.
